NPT thread (National Pipe Thread) is an American standard for tapered pipe threads with a 60° thread angle and a taper of 1:16.

Types

There are two main types:

  • NPT (National Pipe Taper): tapered thread
  • NPTF (National Pipe Taper Fuel): self-sealing tapered thread
